Meet the MHFilms & Photography Team.

Meredith and Colin are a Photo-Video team based in Central Illinois and serving the greater Midwestern Community.

Married & very much in love, this pair’s services are grounded in love and offered warmly to those in love.

Meet Meredith

I’m your lead Photographer and Videographer behind the lens. I am based in Central Illinois, but I love to travel. I’m so happy you’re here.

For as long as I can remember, I have carried a camera with me wherever I go. This is partly thanks to my Dad and his brother (my Uncle Skip) who are avid documentary photographers and videographers. They taught me the value of bringing the camera along with me to capture extraordinary moments, regardless of how mundane. Thanks to my family, I have such a fierce love for capturing life’s adventures; the candid, posed, and otherwise in-between moments that exemplify all that is good and sweet in our world.

When I’m not behind a camera, you can likely find me exploring with my husband, Colin, and our dogs, Pluto and Millie, coffee in hand. I absolutely LIVE to travel and experience new places! I always feel most inspired on the road and I’m probably planning my next trip right now! Some more of my hobbies include reading, making art, clothes, and I bet I have already made a Pinterest board with outfit inspo for your shoot 😉

Meet Colin

Associate Photographer, Videographer, & ultimate Storyteller. Oh, and Cardinals Baseball #1 fan…

I’m Colin Hislope—the second photographer and videographer behind the scenes at Meredith Hislope Films & Photography, and also Meredith’s husband and creative partner. What began as a way to support Meredith has grown into a true creative passion of mine. I’ve found that I really enjoy visual storytelling—especially noticing those quiet, meaningful details: a glance, a laugh, a pause that says more than words. I care deeply about the work we do and take pride in helping preserve moments that couples will treasure for a lifetime.

Outside of weddings, I work at Cobalt Digital Inc., where I handle cutting-edge broadcast technology, and I cover Illini sports as a journalist with Illinois Public Media. Sports have always been a big part of my life, and I bring that same energy and curiosity into my creative work—always ready to show up fully, adapt quickly, and find the heart of the story.

When I’m not behind a camera, I’m probably hanging out with our dogs Pluto and Mille, digging into a new album, or watching Cardinals baseball. I feel grateful to be part of this work—and to be trusted with telling such meaningful love stories alongside someone I love.

Meet Pluto

This was fully just a ploy to show you a picture of our dog.

Okay no but seriously, love, family, friends, and joy mean the absolute most to Colin and I (Hi, it’s Meredith behind this screen ;) Having the opportunity, ability, skill, and equipment to capture love stories is our favorite thing ever. I know that booking a photographer for your special event or just to capture your family where you’re at in life right now can feel stressful. We always always always aim to connect with our clients where they’re at, as an attempt to create a life-long relationship, and build a community full of people who are as into love as we are.
